Yes, I always said, no more LPs but I change my mind all the time as well.
My first inspiration for this was the fact that one of my favorites from back in the day, Trance To The Sun, are returning with a new release. Ashkelon Sain and Ingrid Blue's announcement sent me to my pile of Trance to the Sun releases to re-listen. The notion just sort of had me thinking--AND so did the rewards they offered.
Now they released more music, toured more etc. than I ever did so I am sure they have more and probably more ardent fans than I do now or ever did BUT I am allowed to be inspired!
The show I did recently made me also realize that there are people all over--even if not in large numbers in any one place--who loved the Thanatos LPS (or some of the LPs anyway!).
So for those folks, I want to do another record. Also for me too but as I noted. I am not someone who records just for me or creates just for me. This isn't knocking people who do that, I think that is great. But I need an audience.
Keep an eye open for the announcement of a fairly modest Kickstarter for this project. I hope to figure out the costs and all that shortly. This WILL be a project that incorporates writing, music and painting so there will be more to it than just a CD. No vinyl I am afraid as that is just far too much $.
